Job Summary:
KBR is seeking a skilled Shipboard Engineer to join our team. As a Shipboard Engineer, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on marine equipment and generators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine equipment, including M9 ACE Excavators, Kalmar RTCH, cranes, graders, scrapers, bulldozers, and generators.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to junior mechanics and assist senior mechanics as needed.
- Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with equipment to determine the best course of repair.
- Assemble, disassemble, repair, or modify components and systems as required.
- Read and interpret parts lists, manufacturer's repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Four years of directly related work experience.
- Complete a Construction Equipment and/or Generator Repair-related Course or equivalent.
- Knowledge of engines, hydraulic systems, transmission, and other parts and systems.
- Ability to detect faulty items, determine cause of malfunction, and determine best repair methods.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- REQUIRES U.S. CITIZENSHIP.
- Valid States Driver's License.
- Able to obtain a U.S. Government Common Access (CAC) Card.
- Must have a valid U.S. passport to start employment.
- Must be able to obtain a 'Secret' security clearance.
- Must pass a comprehensive physical examination (Military Sealift Command standards), drug screening, and detailed background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- GCSS experience.
