Job Summary:

KBR is seeking a skilled Shipboard Engineer to join our team. As a Shipboard Engineer, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on marine equipment and generators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine equipment, including M9 ACE Excavators, Kalmar RTCH, cranes, graders, scrapers, bulldozers, and generators.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to junior mechanics and assist senior mechanics as needed.
  • Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with equipment to determine the best course of repair.
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, or modify components and systems as required.
  • Read and interpret parts lists, manufacturer's repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Four years of directly related work experience.
  • Complete a Construction Equipment and/or Generator Repair-related Course or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of engines, hydraulic systems, transmission, and other parts and systems.
  • Ability to detect faulty items, determine cause of malfunction, and determine best repair methods.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • REQUIRES U.S. CITIZENSHIP.
  • Valid States Driver's License.
  • Able to obtain a U.S. Government Common Access (CAC) Card.
  • Must have a valid U.S. passport to start employment.
  • Must be able to obtain a 'Secret' security clearance.
  • Must pass a comprehensive physical examination (Military Sealift Command standards), drug screening, and detailed background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GCSS experience.
