Job Summary

The Nurse Educator- Acute Care role at St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a critical position that enhances professional practice and quality patient care by providing evidence-based educational programs and activities. This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing educational programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel, promoting employee retention, and collaborating with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
  • Provide orientation and onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
  • Develop and implement competency programs for licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel.
  • Design and deliver educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences.
  • Promote and integrate evidence-based practice to continuously improve patient care.
  • Conduct, encourage, facilitate, and participate in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other clinical field required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or other clinical field preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in an acute care setting required.
  • 2+ years' experience in clinical education preferred.
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license in accordance with law and regulation required.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) required.
