Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Superintendent with extensive experience in heavy civil construction to manage operations and lead teams across various project sites. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of multiple projects from the initial planning stages through to completion, while maintaining a strong focus on material costs, compliance with permits, and the safety of all personnel involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols across all job sites at all times.
  • Develop work schedules aligned with crew availability, contractor commitments, and labor regulations.
  • Coordinate daily operations and equipment usage based on project priorities, adjusting plans as necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively among crew members.
  • Ensure adequate resources and staffing to meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines.
  • Establish and uphold quality benchmarks on all construction sites.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets diligently.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or miscommunications on-site promptly and effectively.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to project managers and site engineers.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in heavy civil construction as a Superintendent.
  • Familiarity with standard civil construction equipment and materials.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in mathematics and problem-solving.
  • Physical stamina and condition suitable for job-related activities.
  • Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
