Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Highway Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL. As a key member of our Highways and Roadways team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform project design, sketching design concepts to be developed by junior engineers, CAD designers or technicians.
  • Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
  • Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
  • Coordinate work with project manager and guide junior professionals and technical personnel on the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
  • Ensure quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
Requirements:
  • B.S./M.S in Engineering (Civil).
  • 10 years Highway experience (design and construction).
  • P. E. license is required.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Florida, or the ability to be registered within one (1) year.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Solid oral and written communications skills, capable of developing technical writing.
  • Experience using MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience using Auto TURN.
