Job Summary

United Wound Healing PS is seeking a skilled Wound Care Specialist to join our team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality skin and wound care services to patients in Oregon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop collaborative multidisciplinary wound care teams
  • Travel to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds and house calls, in an assigned region
  • Provide the highest quality skin and wound care services to patients
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic studies to assess change to patients' health care needs
  • Perform bedside wound care skills including: wound assessment, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures
  • Track the progress of wound healing and document timely in UWH's own wound care EMR
  • Develop a treatment plan for skin and wound conditions based on the individual needs of each patient, and UWH's Clinical Practice Guidelines
  • Collaborate virtually with our medical leadership including board certified physicians and surgeons specializing in wound care, dermatology, podiatry, vascular surgery, and infectious disease

Requirements:

  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP, ARNP, APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) licensed in working state
  • Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
  • 1-2 years of wound care and/or surgical experience (highly preferred, but not required); extensive training available
  • Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work/schedule appointments independently
  • Must be trustworthy, honest and have a positive and professional attitude
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people through both verbal and written communication lines
