About the Role

Dewberry is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer Project Manager to lead the technical design and management of infrastructure projects in our Frederick, Maryland office. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of civil-related design experience, including project management, and a strong background in managing multi-disciplined teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers, assigning tasks and ensuring project deliverables are met.
  • Prepare scope, budget, and schedule for projects or tasks within projects, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Manage project budget, schedule, and perform technical quality control, ensuring compliance with agency standards and permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines assigned to the project, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and contractors to ensure project goals are met, scheduling meetings and conducting site visits as needed.
  • Produce engineering calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications, reviewing shop drawings and responses to RFIs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Project Management experience, with the ability to manage multi-disciplined teams.
  • At least 7 years of experience in civil engineering design, with experience permitting projects with Northern Virginia localities a plus.
  • Working knowledge of civil design procedures, agency standards, and permitting required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D strongly preferred.
  • Experience in developing scope, budget, and schedule for projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience working with public agencies required; working with the private sector a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with initiative, drive, and determination.
  • Experience with assignments for the Federal Government a plus.
