Job Description: As a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will play a critical role in developing electrical designs for complex systems. Your expertise in wire harness and RF cable design will be essential in ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to create technical presentations and provide engineering expertise. In addition, you will develop high-quality cable drawings and documentation.
- About the Position:
- Develop detailed electrical designs using Mentor Capital and other tools
- Design and analysis of wire harness and RF cable assemblies to meet customer requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create technical documentation and presentations
- Develop cable drawings and documentation to support production
- Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related experience; or Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of experience; or PhD in STEM with 3 years of experience
- Demonstrated expertise in wire harness and RF cable design
- Fundamental understanding of wire gauge sizing and voltage drop analysis
- Understanding of basic data signal types (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, CAN etc.)
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience with Mentor Capital application
- Prior experience leading a team of engineers
- Proficiency in design tools such as Microsoft Visio, RapidHarness, NX, AutoCAD, CATIA
- Prior experience coordinating with multiple IPTs within a dynamic program environment
- Experience working with suppliers and supplier coordination
