Position Overview:

This role is part of our Nursing Support Incentive Program, offering a total of $5,000 over a three-year commitment.

Role Summary:
We are seeking a Nursing Assistant I with clerical responsibilities for our Neurosurgery / Neurology Acute Care Unit. This specialized unit accommodates 32 beds, including a dedicated 7-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, focusing on patients undergoing spinal and brain surgeries, as well as those with neurological conditions.

Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including rotation on weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor patient care documentation, noting significant changes in patient conditions and promptly reporting to registered nurses or physicians.
  • Perform various clerical tasks, including organizing workloads, greeting visitors, and maintaining medical records while ensuring the accuracy of orders.
  • Provide clinical support by maintaining cleanliness in work areas, managing office equipment, and assisting with patient transport and supply inventory.
  • Deliver direct personal care to patients as outlined in care plans, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and measuring vital signs.
  • Support patient education efforts by reinforcing instructions provided by healthcare providers and distributing educational materials.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must be listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in clerical or customer service roles, alongside six months of relevant nursing assistant experience.
  • Skills: Proficiency in verbal and written English is essential, along with the ability to develop computer skills as needed.
