Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Risk and Loss Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executive, regional, and local leadership to create a culture of risk prevention and reduce harm to patients and staff.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the adverse event reporting platform and improve data quality.
  • Lead the governance structure to ensure effective decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
  • Partner with data analytics to develop de-identified dashboards and trended information.
  • Present information to network and campus committees to drive awareness and learning.
  • Infuse mechanical learning, artificial intelligence, and automation into the current system.
  • Address barriers to reporting and develop solutions to improve the reporting culture.
  • Collaborate with site risk, patient safety, and quality leadership to respond to adverse events and grievances.
  • Oversee and direct occurrence reporting process and ensure timely data entry.
  • Develop a safety culture where reporting is encouraged and use of the Onelink adverse event reporting system is monitored.
  • Provide timely monthly reports to the Sr. VP & Chief Risk Officer.
  • Create and implement new programs to foster a culture of safety and a safe environment.
  • Provide statistical analysis for review by appropriate committees.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize workflows for event reporting and analysis.
  • Design educational and training programs for the platform.
  • Envision, recommend, and implement enterprise-wide clinical risk guidelines and protocols.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators and Dashboard for Clinical Risk & Loss Prevention.
  • Provide litigation support to the HMH Legal Team and external Defense Panel Counsel.
  • Serve as senior clinical risk advisor to the enterprise.
  • Lead or co-lead the Patient Safety Organization for HMH.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Healthcare Risk Management or Patient Safety experience required.
  • Strong understanding of project management, enterprise risk management, process review, root cause analysis, Department of Health and Joint Commission requirements, emergency management, and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Management, or related health field.
  • Risk Management Certification.
