Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Bethesda Health. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant will provide patient care related support, including services relative to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to manage time and organize daily schedules, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care related support, including services relative to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, and safety.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, following established standards and guidelines.
  • Assist with vital sign measurements, weight checks, and other patient care activities as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Ensure that proper slings, splints, braces, and other devices are applied according to physician or therapy orders.
  • Accurately measure intake and output on the I & O sheets and relay information to the Charge Nurse at shift change.
  • Perform procedures and treatments as instructed by the Charge Nurse, including Sitz baths, moist packs, and isolation techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, including restocking supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Interact and maintain effective working relationships with other team members, Charge Nurses, and department managers.
  • Maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the state of employment.
  • CPR certification required, or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to transfer and move patients who vary in ability to assist, weighing 200+lbs, using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary.
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary.
  • Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment.
  • Ability to physically perform necessary documentation in writing or the use of a tape recorder.
  • Visual acuity with the ability to distinguish color.
