As a Lead Memory Care Aide, you will be pivotal in enhancing the lives of residents with memory impairments. In this position, you will operate under the guidance of a licensed nurse and the Memory Care Resource Coordinator, focusing on assisting residents with their daily living activities to promote their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing assistance with essential daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Ensuring cleanliness and safety in communal areas.
- Completing necessary documentation during your shifts.
- Facilitating the orientation and training of new staff members.
Medication Support:
Offering guidance for residents in self-administering medications as per the instructions of a licensed nurse.
Health Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Observing and reporting any changes in residents' health to the nursing staff.
- Monitoring safety within the environment and reporting any incidents.
- Documenting events in the residents' profiles.
Dining Assistance:
Helping with various dining tasks and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
Emergency Response:
Acting effectively during emergency situations and participating in drills.
Leadership and Advocacy:
- Serving as an advocate for residents while maintaining confidentiality.
- Working both independently and collaboratively with team members.
- Communicating tactfully in sensitive situations.
- Maintaining all necessary certifications for the role.
Additional Duties:
Performing other responsibilities as assigned and required.
