As a Platforms Engineer with a focus on Azure, you will be instrumental in developing cloud infrastructure solutions for Ascot. Utilizing your skills in Azure, Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure services, you will design and implement robust and scalable cloud environments. This position allows you to engage in various projects, collaborate with skilled professionals, and contribute significantly to the dynamic field of cloud technology. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in a fast-paced IT environment, with experience in designing and executing technical solutions, as well as supporting servers, desktops, and operating systems. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are essential. Availability for queries outside regular hours and participation in the on-call rotation may be required based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage server production, disaster recovery, and cloud platforms.
  • Design, implement, and oversee Azure-based cloud infrastructure solutions in alignment with best practices and client specifications.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts using Terraform and PowerShell to enhance provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to evaluate project needs, provide technical guidance, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in cloud technology, continuously improving your skills and knowledge.
  • Provide network, system, and hardware support and troubleshooting.
  • Act as an escalation point for incident resolution for Service Desk and other internal teams.
  • Support various application platforms.
  • Establish proactive monitoring to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Lead a variety of technology projects.
  • Participate actively in all phases of initiative planning.
  • Implement and advocate for best security practices and standards.
  • Oversee the lifecycle from design to build to deployment.
  • Document processes and design workflows.
  • Adhere to the Change Management process and manage Corporate Server Infrastructure changes, including planning and executing updates.
  • Recommend enhancements to ensure IT capacity meets current and future business needs efficiently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain an up-to-date environment by ensuring the latest application and security updates are applied across servers and devices.
Required Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure and experience in delivering Azure-based solutions, including Azure AD, Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Storage, and other M365/Cloud services.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions.
  • Understanding of Azure Team Services.
  • Experience in provisioning virtualized cloud service environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud system engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and troubleshooting PowerShell ISE.
  • Awareness of IT security risks.
  • Working knowledge of beneficial technologies such as:
    • SharePoint Online
    • Service Management Automation (SMA) and/or Windows Azure Stack
    • Azure Foundation (Subscription, Network, Compute, Features)
    • Modern Cloud Application Architectures
    • Cloud Management and Optimization (sizing, scaling, tagging, policies)
  • Experience with Hyper-V cluster environments.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory 2016.
  • Understanding of ITIL disciplines.
  • Ability to produce high-quality process documentation for knowledge transfer.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and technologies such as Prisma and Panorama.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package includes a competitive salary, with actual base pay varying based on experience and expertise. Additional rewards may include annual cash bonuses and other discretionary compensation. The annualized base pay range for this role is competitive.
