Role of the Assistant Teacher

We are seeking Assistant Teachers to support our preschool classrooms. In this capacity, you will collaborate with our exceptional team of Certified Lead Teachers and Special Education Teachers to enhance the educational experience for the children.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Deliver outstanding care and educational support.
    • Facilitate the development and learning of preschool-aged children (ages 3 to 5) in our inclusive classrooms alongside Lead and Special Education Teachers.
    • Assist in teaching age-appropriate academic and social skills to prepare children for kindergarten through various interactive methods.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Contribute to creating a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment that inspires curiosity and excitement for learning.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies.
    • Help establish and maintain classroom expectations and routines.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Preschool Teacher role will possess:

  • A genuine passion for providing exceptional care and education to children and their families.
  • Experience in supporting the educational, developmental, and social-emotional growth of young children.
  • A warm and engaging demeanor with a focus on family-centered care.
  • A strong work ethic and adaptability to the evolving needs of early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Preferred but not mandatory: An active NYS Teacher Assistant certification, with support for obtaining certification available.
