Description:

The City of Converse Texas is seeking a highly skilled Grants and Procurement Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programmatic activities related to requests for proposals, contracts, purchasing, and grants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement grant applications and progress reports
  • Participate in requests for proposals to obtain federal funding and contracts for city goods and services
  • Manage procurement processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Collaborate with internal and external groups to complete essential job functions
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and others to provide, exchange, or verify information
  • Use good judgment in all decision-making and in carrying out all job duties
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field
  • Significant knowledge of grant planning and writing principles and practices
  • Ability to plan, develop and coordinate grant programs
  • Considerable knowledge of governmental accounting and budgeting principles and practices
  • Ability to create and maintain records and to prepare reports
Working Conditions:

The Grants and Procurement Manager will work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines. The position requires sitting, standing, moving around, bending, reaching, stretching, pushing and pulling, and remaining upright for extended periods of time.
