Cleveland Clinic's Fairview Hospital is seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in extended care facilities, ensuring that all specimens are properly processed and prepared for testing.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples from patients in extended care facilities
- Process and prepare specimens for testing
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation certificate from a formal accredited Phlebotomy program preferred
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- ASCP Phlebotomy Certification preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work a varied schedule, including early morning shifts and on-call hours
- Must be able to travel to patient locations, including client facilities, house calls, and stats
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment
