Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Employer Support Navigator to join our team at Southeast Michigan Community Alliance. This is an exciting opportunity to work with business partners to identify employer requirements and connect them with grant-supported and community resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the strategy and work plan for the initiative through regular and consistent contact with the business community, human resource leaders, talent executives, and others to identify employer needs.
  • Grow relationships with key mobility sector employers, including human resource executives and CEOs.
  • Provide outreach and clear communications to mobility employers, other workforce partners, and the network of sub-recipients utilizing multiple strategies as set forth by the department.
  • Assess, coordinate, and support appropriate employer services among GEM service providers, GEM co-recipients, and other critical partners to help employers meet their talent needs.
  • Utilize the GEM Launch Pad (CRM), Submittable (Grant-making) systems to track employer and project activities.
  • Compile and develop reports for a variety of audiences, including employers, SEMCA leadership, Federal program officers, and GEM Central/GEM co-recipient partners.
  • Participate in program planning as requested.
  • Support marketing and communications efforts related to the employer service awareness efforts (e.g., social media strategies, traditional media strategies, participation in career fairs, etc.).
  • Regularly participate in GEM Best practices meetings with service providers and serve as subject matter expert on services and networks available to Mobility employers.
  • Secure employer participation in critical grant activities, including convenings, talent studies, and Mobility Talent Resource Network.
  • Assist Business Owners to navigate program processes in Submittable portal for the GEM Mobility Talent Resource Network including project assessments, request for proposals, B2B services matching with a high level of care for successful project outcomes.
  • Assist team members with tasks or projects with vigilance and attention to detail and communicating potential risk factors to support the well-being of the organization.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguards employee and organizational integrity through diligent protection of data and systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience pursuant to SEMCA's Experience in Lieu of Education policy.
  • Position requires ability to interpret instructions and policies, provide information to manager(s) on policy development, communicate management initiatives, and use complex ideas relevant to discipline.
  • Ability to maintain reasonable and responsible use of resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and apply solutions, including identification of potential causes.
  • Ability to influence the organizational well-being in assigned functional area.
  • Three years' relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated business to business (B2B) marketing or relevant experience in workforce development, economic development, or regional initiatives.
  • Strong business relationship development aptitude.
  • Understanding of the mobility industry and a clear desire to establish expertise in this area.
  • Understanding of regional talent ecosystems, including community colleges, workforce development, community-based organizations, K-12, and higher education.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated experience working with teams in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a high degree of dependability and quality.
  • Evidence of creative thinking, supporting problem resolution, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Strong desire to learn and innovate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years' experience in workforce development and community/employer outreach activities.
  • Salesforce or other similar CRM.
  • Ability to execute projects independently.
  • Knowledge of the Southeast Michigan regional business community.
Physical Demands

Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials on an LCD screen and smartphone, hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone. These requirements may be reasonably accommodated for an otherwise qualified individual upon request.
