Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Project Coordinator to join our field team in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in heavy/civil construction office management and/or field engineering. They will also possess excellent written communication skills, project coordination, or project management experience. This position will support our operations and administrative functions at the job site, including interfacing with onsite managers, engineers, inspectors, and construction team members.

Key responsibilities include handling job site deliveries and materials tracking, payroll administration, and field office scheduling needs. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines, with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications. They will also have a high level of attention to detail and organization, with the ability to make sound judgments and ethical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Track project progress and report out as necessary or requested.
  • Monitor installation and other building activities, especially with subcontractors.
  • Track and maintain material inventories (if needed).
  • Complete regular Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections.
  • Coordinate activities and requests with utilities companies and providers, including submitting meter-reading requests, as needed.
  • Request and renew required job-site permits (e.g., "Hot Work").
  • Assist the Project Manager with gathering data for, writing, reviewing, and submitting product data information (submittals).
  • Maintain project document revision releases.
  • Act as the liaison between engineers, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and clients.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractor meetings.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience with a construction company or on a construction job site, preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills/proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook), preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and ethical decisions.
  • Open to travel (up to 100%) and/or relocation for future roles.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.).
