Department: Construction

Compensation: $25.00 per hour (Annualized range: $44,720 - $52,000) with a comprehensive benefits package

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7AM – 3PM

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Construction Equipment Specialist is primarily tasked with executing designated duties safely and effectively while utilizing owned and/or leased construction machinery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Equipment Management

  • Loading and unloading machinery from transport vehicles.
  • Conducting pre-use and post-use inspections to ensure equipment is operational.
  • Operating heavy machinery to fulfill tasks at construction sites.
  • Monitoring machinery performance and making necessary adjustments to settings.
  • Keeping track of scheduled maintenance and informing the VP of Construction of overdue maintenance.
  • Documenting performance issues and usage records for equipment.
  • Cleaning machinery post-operation and disposing of any waste appropriately.
  • Performing minor repairs as required.

Operational Tasks

  • Clearing land at various job sites.
  • Stump removal and site preparation.
  • Forest mowing activities.
  • Executing all necessary tasks for residential lot preparation.
  • Final grading preparations for sod or grass seeding.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred 5 years of experience in heavy machinery operation.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of land clearing: grubbing, stumping, tree removal, and raking.
  • Knowledge of heavy machinery.
  • Ability to operate machinery with a high level of skill and efficiency.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Understanding of construction techniques, materials, and regulations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role involves regular operation of heavy machinery on construction sites. The position requires transporting equipment from the office/warehouse to job sites. A valid state driver's license, a safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through the company's vehicle insurance are necessary.
