Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator provides overall direction throughout the Dedicated Fleet operation and provides operational assistance to the Project Manager wherever needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Positive Working Relations: Develop and maintain positive and encouraging working relations with all drivers.
  • Communicate Service Issues: Provide constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments, both internal (NFI) and external (Customer).
  • Load Planning and Scheduling: Perform load planning, driver scheduling, and dispatch duties using both Dedicated Fleet and Common Carrier resources.
  • Data Entry and Coordination: Coordinate daily data entry into NFI's proprietary order-management-system, TMW.
  • Invoice Coordination: Coordinate with home-office invoicing team to ensure timely and accurate completion of weekly customer invoices.
  • Task Completion: Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily and weekly tasks.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide weekly KPI/performance data reports to both internal and external parties.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate daily on scheduling truck and trailer maintenance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Work with safety department on DriveCam, driver compliance and HOS issues.
  • Policies and Procedures: Assist Project Manager with implementing NFI's Safety, Security and Labor policies.
  • Department Coverage: Assist and provide coverage throughout departments during vacations, holidays if necessary.
  • Driver Payroll Management: Manage and maintain driver payroll.
  • Expense Report Auditing: Audit and approve driver expense reports.
  • Project Support: Provide assistance to Project Manager wherever needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years experience in logistics and/or transportation.
  • Computer Applications: Computer applications experience including MS Office and TMW strongly desired.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service, problem solving, communication and decision making skills.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Efficiency and Multitasking: Ability to work efficiently and multitask.
  • Extended Hours: Ability and availability to work extended hours if necessary.
