CCLB's core mission is to nurture at-risk youth, enabling them to realize their full potential through meaningful work, community service, environmental stewardship, and educational initiatives.

POSITION OVERVIEW
In collaboration with an experienced Supervisor, the Recycling Crew Supervisor plays a pivotal role in guiding and developing corpsmembers engaged in various recycling and educational projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership:
    Under the guidance of a Project Coordinator, oversee daily operations of the crew, providing instruction on essential skills for project completion, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and optimizing the use of tools and materials.
  • Foster a positive work environment by maintaining discipline, encouraging teamwork, and ensuring adherence to organizational guidelines.
Project Management:
  • Supervise the crew in executing recycling-related initiatives, including the collection of recyclable materials from designated accounts and events. Materials include beverage containers, cardboard, and electronic waste.
  • Collaborate with the Project Coordinator to promote CCLB's recycling program to local businesses and organizations, aiming to establish new recycling partnerships and enhance material diversion efforts.
  • Act as a representative of CCLB at community events, advocating for the importance of recycling and environmental responsibility.
  • Oversee the sorting and processing of collected recyclables within the recycling facility.
Reporting Duties:
  • Compile and present oral and written reports regarding project outcomes, corpsmember assessments, incident documentation, and attendance records.
  • Provide guidance, motivation, and necessary disciplinary actions for corpsmembers under supervision.
  • Engage in staff and corpsmember meetings to foster communication and collaboration.
  • Document weights of recycled materials and prepare reports detailing diversion rates and shipment logs.
  • Track distribution of marketing materials during outreach initiatives and events.
Driving and Vehicle Management:
  • When required, transport the crew to work and educational sites.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and adhere to driving policies.
  • Utilize a forklift for the movement of recycling materials within the warehouse as necessary.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of group instruction techniques and motivational strategies.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with young adults.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with diverse youth populations or relevant training through CCLB.
  • One year of experience in a recycling-related field.
  • Forklift operation certification is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical capability to perform manual labor and heavy lifting is essential.

Valid Class C Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement or Class B Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement is required, along with First Aid/CPR certification.
