Job Summary

As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for collecting past due invoices, negotiating payment arrangements with customers, and reconciling accounts to ensure accurate balances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect past due invoices in a timely manner
  • Provide customers with proof of deliveries, copies of invoices, and other necessary documentation
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with customers and resolve problem accounts
  • Reconcile accounts to present customers with accurate balances
  • Discuss past due accounts with management and the sales department to find the best way to collect or release accounts from credit hold
  • Report to management any delinquent accounts that may affect our cash forecast
  • Request claim investigations to issue credit memos
  • Send collection letters and statements
  • Assist the EDI Department with the correction of invoices and transmission problems
  • Navigate customer websites to retrieve payment information
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for upper management with collection updates
  • Maintain the debit balance and buyer hold report up to date
  • File claims with the factor company promptly
  • Send daily forecast updates
  • Assist other collectors and train new employees
  • Assist upper management and participate in month-end closing
  • Prepare month-end comments for Specialty Accounts
  • Reconcile CIT (302H) and the end of the month for Cash applications

Requirements

  • Strong computer user abilities and aptitude to work with Oracle and Essentus systems
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to negotiate payment arrangements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve problem accounts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
