About the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing LDEO's portfolio of Research Computing systems, providing ongoing maintenance and operational support. This role requires strong technical expertise in Unix/Linux systems administration, including experience with scripting languages, VMware vSphere, and networking fundamentals.

Salary Information
The estimated salary for this position is $95,000-$110,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The selected finalist's salary will be based on a variety of factors, including departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute system deployment plans tailored to research needs and institutional policies
- Provide administration and support for Linux-based systems across cloud-hosted and on-premises virtualized environments
- Administer and maintain server hardware, including rackmount servers, storage arrays, and network equipment
- Test new software versions, participate in upgrades, and create documentation such as flowcharts and diagrams

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 3 years of related professional experience in Linux system administration
- Strong technical expertise in Unix/Linux systems administration, including experience with scripting languages, VMware vSphere, and networking fundamentals
