Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Conducting vascular ultrasound procedures as directed by physicians.
  • Scheduling and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Clearly explaining procedures to patients to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Positioning patients and selecting appropriate transducers for optimal imaging.
  • Performing scanning procedures with ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings as necessary.
  • Completing examinations efficiently and accurately.
  • Gathering patient history and retrieving relevant medical records.
  • Managing patient flow and ensuring all exams are completed.
  • Maintaining and organizing equipment and supplies.
  • Keeping accurate departmental records and reports.
  • Adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Upholding the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements.

EDUCATION: No formal education requirements.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of experience as an ultrasound technologist/sonographer is required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Candidates must possess one or more of the following credentials: Registered Vascular Tech, Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, in accordance with state regulations. Certification through ARDMS or ARRT is also required.
