About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Water Resources Engineer to join our team at Alliant Engineering, Inc. As a key member of our water resources group, you will play a crucial role in designing drainage systems for complex transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to ensure efficient and effective drainage systems
  • Develop roadway drainage and stormwater treatment systems that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Design erosion control and sediment management best management practices to minimize environmental impact
  • Coordinate and obtain agency permitting to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Perform bridge and culvert hydraulic analysis to ensure safe and reliable infrastructure
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Biosystems Engineering with a hydrology or water resources emphasis
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Minnesota, or ability to acquire license through reciprocity within six (6) months of employment
  • 4+ years of previous experience in hydrology and hydraulics, water resources engineering, and storm water management
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software
  • Demonstrated experience and strong proficiencies with Microstation and GEOPAK Drainage and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with or demonstrated aptitude for collaborating with roadway design teams to ensure drainage systems are coordinated, constructible, and engineered to the appropriate level of detail
  • The ability to think spatially and understand how design practices correlate with real-world construction
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
