Key Responsibilities of Admissions Counselors II (CADC, LPC, LSW):
- Facilitating the admission process into treatment programs by conducting interviews with clients or their representatives to gather pertinent information, performing comprehensive assessments, and developing initial treatment plans.
- Assessing eligibility for insurance coverage or medical assistance.
- Completing necessary admission documentation and securing required consent signatures.
- Addressing inquiries related to treatment programs and available services.
- In residential facilities, managing census counts and maintaining waiting lists.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education and life experience, with a minimum of 100 hours of documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice.
- Current certification as a substance abuse counselor (CADC) or higher licensure (LPC, LSW) in the state of employment.
- A minimum of 2 years of prior experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling.
- Availability to work full-time, including some weekends, days, or evenings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others to exchange information, conduct assessments, and provide counseling.
- Capability to record and proofread information on forms and within electronic health records.
- Ability to respond to telephones and pages and comprehend spoken communication.
- Proficiency in using a keyboard and display to receive, retrieve, and/or audit information and enter data into electronic health records regularly.
