Position Overview: The Cyber Security Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) functions of an Identity and Access Management (IdAM) engineering and operations team. This role entails managing daily operations and resolving issues related to existing IdAM Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and customized LINUX operating systems, along with system scanning, troubleshooting, remediation, and recovery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take on hands-on cyber engineering and operational duties for an established IdAM enterprise system.
  • Oversee, diagnose, and report on system and service performance metrics.
  • Utilize and update ticket management systems (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow) and collaboration/documentation platforms (e.g., GitLab, Confluence).
  • Integrate and onboard IT solutions based on user and organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with sustainment and engineering teams to ensure system availability.
  • Work with engineering and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) teams on feature enhancements, security updates, hardening, and necessary documentation to meet security Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Deploy system enhancements into the production environment.
  • Support IdAM/IAMS enablement requests and onboarding processes.
  • Provide assistance for Enterprise Directory Services, Identity Management Services, and Credentialing Services (PKI-based Authentication and Authorization), as well as Enterprise Authorization services.
  • Contribute to the achievement of milestones associated with specific projects.
  • Maintain current documentation of system components and configurations.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to fellow Cyber engineers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Propose innovative solutions for system services, directories, databases, automation, configuration, continuous monitoring, and service integration.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) testing team to support the DevOps lifecycle of system releases.
  • Ensure a common security baseline is maintained across all systems.
  • Assist with routine vulnerability scanning, auditing, onboarding, and ensuring all systems have up-to-date security patches.
  • Help maintain the health of IAMS and other systems.
  • Participate in meetings and provide written and verbal status updates.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on production and operational issues.
  • Assist developers with the integration and deployment of Identity and Access Management (IdAM) solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in the field.
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in IT, O&M, sustainment, break-fix, and cloud computing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL) operating systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in supporting system break-fix activities.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cloud and virtual environments.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with PKI, IdAM COTS, and customized solutions.
  • Prior experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Security+ certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle IdAM software, including Oracle Access Manager (OAM), F5 appliances, ABAC solutions, and general concepts of Identity and Access and PKI management.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
