Job Summary:

UNFI is seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our distribution team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our tractor trailer fleet. This includes coordinating loading schedules, starting refrigeration units, and preparing trucks for delivery. You will also be responsible for making local deliveries and covering various routes in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinate loading schedules with warehouse supervisors
* Start refrigeration units and check them periodically
* Pull loaded trailers away from the dock and secure trailer doors
* Ensure trucks have received pre-trip inspection prior to driver departure
* Notify drivers of potential late load situations
* Ensure returning trucks are refueled, if necessary
* Make local deliveries and cover various routes in emergency situations

Requirements:

* Valid medical card as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration and a valid state-specific Commercial Drivers License, Class A
* Ability to pass a written exam and road test
* Understanding of related computer applications
* Prefer minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer
* Must be 21 years of age
