About the Role

Riggs Community Health Center is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our experienced out-patient nurse team in Adult Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care to a diverse population in Lafayette, IN and the surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation for Examination
    • Greet patients and review their symptoms, treatment, and past health/medical history.
    • Take vital signs, including blood pressure, weight, height, temperature, and other measurements as necessary.
    • Perform vision, hearing screenings, and spirometry as required.
  • Provision of Care
    • Assist with treatment, teaching, and counseling patients.
    • Help with patient scheduling and encounter forms.
    • Answer and triage telephone calls and callbacks as instructed by registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Clean and stock examination rooms and maintain room cleaning schedules.
    • Set up, assist, and post-clean for special procedures.
    • Maintain clinical records and logs for the clinical area.
    • Inventory and manage medical and office supplies for the clinical area.
    • File charts, lab reports, patient forms, and information in the medical records.
    • Request medical records from other healthcare providers.
    • Assist with chart flow and medical records for RCHC and other providers.
    • Participate in in-service education for staff, quality assurance programs, and risk-management programs.
    • Relieve and substitute for other staff in other clinical areas as needed for clinic operations and/or other clerical staff as needed.
