Job Title: Physiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiatrist to join our team at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. As a Physiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients with various medical conditions, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation, neurological disorders, and orthopedic conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical direction to patients, including patient care, program development, and professional standards
  • Coordinate with research and education areas as needed
  • Perform initial evaluations to determine patient needs and abilities
  • Plan and implement treatment programs within established guidelines
  • Initiate prescriptions and modify as necessary
  • Conduct periodic re-evaluations to determine progress and indicate changes or discontinuance of treatment
  • Prescribe prosthetic and orthotic devices as needed
  • Keep accurate medical records and counsel patients' relatives on proper care and techniques
  • Interact with community-based referral sources to facilitate patient care and referrals
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a medical school recognized by the Council of Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association
  • Board eligible or certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
  • Current and valid license to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey
