Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Georgia driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to complete Georgia P.O.S.T. basic peace officer certification.
  • Must have an insurable driving record.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain proficiency with a handgun and other required weapons.
  • Must pass an extensive background investigation, including a drug screen and psychological exam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An accredited associate's degree or equivalent coursework is preferred.
  • Experience as a peace officer with arrest authority or in a law enforcement support or security-related function is preferred.
  • Certification as a peace officer in any state is preferred.
  • Service in the U.S. military with honorable discharge is preferred.
