The Quality Assurance team at TouchNet, a Global Payments company, is in search of a Senior Test Automation Engineer to lead the strategy, design, and development of our Software Quality Assurance Automation Practice. This role will involve close collaboration with QA scrum teams, regression testers, and various stakeholders to establish and implement a cohesive Testing Methodology. You will provide quality processes and technical guidance to the Software Quality Assurance team, ensuring that our quality and automation objectives are consistently achieved.
As a Senior Test Automation Engineer, you will oversee a team dedicated to creating and maintaining comprehensive automation tests, while also automating the pipelines through which these tests are executed. These tests will encompass all newly developed features as well as applicable regression tests. The ideal candidate will possess a technical, analytical, and innovative mindset, continuously adapting to changes and seeking enhancements, with a steadfast focus on quality. You will ensure that our software, processes, and personnel align with the expectations of our clients and adhere to company audits. Strong communication skills are essential for conveying expectations to team members, collaborating with other departments, providing mentorship, and delivering progress updates.
This role combines managerial responsibilities with hands-on technical work, including coding automation tests, conducting code reviews, executing tests, and staying abreast of evolving software trends. As the primary resource for your team, you will ensure that all members have the necessary tools to perform their duties effectively, while also driving the transition from manual to automated testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and pursue automation objectives for the department.
- Design, implement, and enhance the company's automation framework.
- Manage automation test environments, ensuring that software and test data meet testing requirements.
- Build and maintain the pipeline for executing automation tests.
- Create Java-based automation test cases and conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the recruitment and training of new team members.
- Motivate, coach, and guide team members towards success.
- Prepare status reports for senior management to showcase project progress.
- Develop strategies to enhance productivity.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business/CS, or equivalent experience.
- Over 5 years of experience leading a high-performing technical team.
- More than 5 years of experience in Java programming and SQL.
- Proficiency in Selenium and Selenide.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with Product Development, IT, and Software Operations teams.
- Solid experience in adapting automation methodologies and industry standards.
- Experience in collaborating with software developers and other team leaders on process improvements that enhance QA system testing.
- Demonstrated ability to develop an automation framework or create automated tests for web-driven and API testing.
- Strong attention to detail, effective documentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative spirit and a willingness to contribute to team success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with microservice automation.
- Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, GitHub, IntelliJ, Docker, and Maven.
- Experience with Jira and TestRail integration.
