Job Summary

Apex Systems, a leading provider of technical staffing and services, is seeking a highly skilled Network Field Engineer to join our team. As a Network Field Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of our wireless network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Performance Monitoring: Operate, maintain, and proactively monitor the performance of all aspects of the wireless network to ensure it is performing as designed and drive resolution when anomalies are discovered.
  • Problem-Solving and Analysis: Utilize analytical and automation tools to seek and correct problems, providing analysis of network systems to proactively manage, support, and optimize network reliability and availability.
  • Support and Coordination: Engage in nationwide support of initiatives, such as software upgrades, enterprise projects, and special events, and support network activities with vendors and other teams.
  • Technology Deployment and Expansion: Support new technology deployment, network expansion, and capacity augmentation through equipment installation, commissioning, integration, and post-activation validation testing, including remote support, call test verification, and performance drive tests.
  • Emergency Response and Coordination: Coordinate preparations and responses for mass outage events, including providing alternative power sources, accessing sites using alternative means, repairing site equipment, logistical coordination, and auditing for related damages.
  • Asset Management and Maintenance: Maintain and operate company resources, such as tools, vehicles, all-terrain vehicles, and test equipment, to ensure proper operation and availability, and track and manage fixed assets in support of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Technical Expertise and Guidance: Provide expert guidance for standards and process creation, and demonstrate a high level of proficiency and understanding of 4G/IMS/Core architecture, call flows, technologies, services, and implementations based on 3GPP standards, as well as legacy CDMA 1x/EVDO, VoLTE, 4G/LTE, 5G, SIP, VoLTE, and Data Roaming, transport, including microwave, Cell Site Routers, SIP/VoLTE translations, IP Telephony, and network diagnostic tools, Ericsson equipment, and knowledge of EnodeB.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Participate in technical projects involving a diverse and/or cross-functional team, and demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Travel and Physical Demands: Be capable of reporting to remote work site locations after hours to provide network support as required during planned and unplanned activities, and have a valid driver's license and good driving record, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Related Experience: Related experience in computer operations, switching, and radio or data communications.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.
