Job Title: Counselor I - Peer Focus

Join the State of South Carolina Department of Mental Health as a Counselor I - Peer Focus, where you will play a vital role in supporting the recovery of individuals with mental illnesses. As a member of our team, you will provide leadership and support in the development, implementation, and evaluation of youth and young adult peer support programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement program activities, including training, communication, and information dissemination.
  • Provide and coordinate services for youth and young adults and their families throughout the catchment area.
  • Facilitate meetings and outreach/engagement efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff to achieve objectives and performance measures of grant initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences.
  • Professional experience in human services or social services programs.
  • Lived experience with a mental illness and received mental health services.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language).
