Job Title: Psychology Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Psychology Instructor to join our team at Kern Community College District. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of Psychology courses in the Rising Scholars Program.

Job Summary:

The Psychology Instructor will be responsible for teaching Psychology courses, developing curriculum, and assessing student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will also participate in student recruitment and articulation activities, and maintain subject matter currency.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach Psychology courses in the Rising Scholars Program
  • Develop and revise curriculum
  • Assess student learning outcomes
  • Participate in student recruitment and articulation activities
  • Maintain subject matter currency
Requirements:
  • Master's in Psychology or related field
  • OR Bachelor's in Psychology and Master's in Counseling, Sociology, Statistics, Neuroscience, or Social Work
  • OR Equivalent
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission
