About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Physician to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a member of our Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, you will play a key role in delivering world-class post-operative adult cardiovascular and thoracic intensive care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert medical care to patients in the CTICU
  • Collaborate with the critical care team responsible for patient care
  • Function as part of a multidisciplinary peri-operative team
  • Medical student, resident, and advanced practitioner education
  • Participation in scholarly activity which may include clinical, health services, translational or basic science research
  • Actively participate in the academic department by all required departmental policies
Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards in specialist (medicine, surgery, anesthesia)
  • Board certification or board eligible in critical care medicine within two (2) years of completion of training
  • Completion of a fellowship in critical care medicine at an accredited institution
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment)
  • Proven experience in managing complex cardiovascular cases in an ICU setting
  • Exceptional clinical skills and proficiency in critical care procedures
  • Outstanding communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities
  • Passionate about teaching at the bedside and in the classroom
  • Fosters a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and empathy in the ICU
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
