The City of North Las Vegas is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant - Grants Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in managing our grant portfolio and ensuring the proper disbursement of funds to program personnel and Grants Officers.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage fiscal functions for assigned grant portfolio.
- Assist with the review of grant information, budgetary data, and reports to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Identify and notify Grants Officers, supervisors, and program personnel of compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, public administration, or accounting.
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional accounting experience, ideally in a public sector setting.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job.
- Certified Financial Research Administrator or similar certification.
- Complete Online Application: Interested candidates must submit a completed application through the City's application system.
- Screening of Application/Resume: The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process.
- Online Assessment (Pass/Fail): The most qualified individuals will be invited to participate in an online assessment that will measure their ability to proofread, maintain attention to detail, basic mathematical ability, customer service, and other relevant skills.
- Oral Board Interview (Weighted 100%, Passing Score 70%): The selected candidates will participate in an oral board interview to assess their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Pre-Employment Screening: Selected candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening, which includes a local and state criminal history check, federal criminal history check, and drug screening.
