Job Summary:

As a Mental Health Therapist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to our members. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for members, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Provide evidence-based psychotherapy services, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and family therapy.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for members.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify members' mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including emergency response and stabilization, to members in crisis.
  • Document all interactions with members, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for members with complex needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in mental health treatment, including evidence-based therapies and medications.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or related field required.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) required.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with members, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare technologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a mental health setting, including hospitals, clinics, and private practice.
  • Experience with crisis intervention, including emergency response and stabilization.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment, including collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers.
