Job OverviewAt Sigma Technologies, Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Field Technician to join our team. As a Field Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our outside plant design efforts for power and telecom companies. Your primary responsibilities will include performing a variety of tasks in the field, such as executing work orders, collecting data, and mapping data collected. You will also interact with customers to perform walkout kickoff/scope meetings and assist in the preparation of bid documentation. Additionally, you will communicate with outside parties to obtain right-of-way approvals and easements. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute work orders for the fielding of infrastructure while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints
  • Collect data by visually identifying, inspecting, and recording equipment and structures in the field
  • Map data collected and apply established fielding guidelines, processes, and procedures
  • Interact with customers to perform walkout kickoff/scope meetings and/or to assist in the preparation of bid documentation
  • Communicate with outside parties to obtain right-of-way approvals and easements
  • Provide guidance to others for specific duties in software, processes, and procedures
  • Provide quality control review
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent, prior experience is preferred but not required. You will also need to have strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to work in all weather conditions, a willingness to travel overnight during the week as necessary, dependable transportation and a valid driver's license and insurance that meets our minimum requirements, and the ability to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.

Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to endure frequent/lengthy driving, standing, walking long distances, navigating rough terrain on foot, and lifting/balancing objects that may weigh up to ~40 lbs. and require the use of upper extremities and back muscles. You must also be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, including driving in a vehicle, and have the physical ability to perform activities such as visually identifying, inspecting, and measuring objects as well as transcribing notes in proximity to moving vehicles in the right of way.
