Job SummaryThe Quality Control Inspector performs calibration and inspection of parts, assemblies, products, and materials for quality, defects, appearance, finishes, variance, and operation through specification or by visual comparison methods.
This role is responsible for documenting all variable and attribute results, assisting in the development of standardized work instructions/procedures in accordance with our Quality Management System.
The Quality Control Inspector will be actively engaged in various levels of the organization and must be an excellent communicator and educator of GD&T and calibration techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Perform calibration of variable and attribute gages to high-level accuracy compliant with ISO standards
- Maintain calibration reports and procedures
- Use and maintenance of gage tracking software
- Understand and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and basic trigonometry
- Experience with understanding engineering models, work instructions, and specifications
- Inspect component conformance using precision gauges, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented
- Organized, systematic, and detail-oriented
- Can learn from others and follow explicit instruction
- High level of accountability and pride in work
- Associate degree or equivalent technical school and/or minimum 3 years' experience and/or training
- Training in quality disciplines and metrology is preferred
- Combination of education and experience considered
- Experienced with GD&T
- ASQ certification for mechanical inspection/calibration a plus
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Outlook
