Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Unit at Duke Regional Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with the healthcare team, and promoting a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Monitor patient progress, identifying and addressing any changes or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and safe administration.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care, including referrals to specialists and other healthcare services.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BSN degree or higher.
  • One year of RN experience in a Medical Surgical Unit or related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
