Position Title: Housekeeper - AS1 New
Location: Raleigh, NC
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a systematic cleaning approach to maintain and sanitize designated areas within the facility.
- Report any irregularities or issues discovered in the premises and respond to emergency situations and adverse weather conditions.
- Employ standard cleaning tools and supplies to execute essential tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, and restocking supplies.
- Manage recycling efforts by removing materials from centralized indoor recycling locations.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in snow and ice removal activities as part of a team during inclement weather.
- Collaborate with colleagues during group responses to emergencies.
- Engage in team cleaning projects during breaks and when spaces are available.
- Occasionally strip and refinish floors, as well as shampoo and extract carpets.
- Conduct periodic pressure washing of entrances, exterior walls, and windows.
- May be called upon to cover for absences in other areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and the ability to follow instructions.
- Capability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
- Proficiency in maneuvering cleaning equipment.
- Capability to reach and perform cleaning tasks above shoulder height.
- Frequent bending and squatting required.
- Ability to climb and maintain balance on a ladder up to 8 feet.
- Color distinction capability.
- Effective communication skills with supervisors and the public.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in housekeeping within a university or commercial setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Information:
Final candidates will undergo background checks. Certain positions may also require credit or motor vehicle checks. All degrees must be obtained prior to the start date to meet qualifications.
