Kaman Aerospace is seeking a skilled and dedicated Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the assembly of aircraft structural components and subassemblies, ensuring adherence to strict quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately assemble or disassemble aircraft mechanical and structural parts.
  • Proficiently utilize hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and riveting equipment common in aircraft manufacturing.
  • Maintain meticulous records, data logs, and reports as required.
  • Identify and promptly report any discrepancies, defective materials, or tooling issues.
  • Contribute to process improvements by suggesting innovative solutions and best practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic math skills and fluent English reading and writing abilities.
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, pneumatic drills, rivet guns, and floor squeezes used in aircraft sheet metal and structural part fabrication.
  • Ability to accurately utilize scales and calipers for precise measurements.
  • Prior experience in new build or MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) environments is highly valued.
  • Strong comprehension of blueprints, specifications, charts, and tables.
  • Familiarity with fasteners, riveting techniques, and countersinking procedures is preferred.
  • Minimum of six months to one year of experience working with sheet metal, metallic structures, or related fields is desirable.
