Job Summary

The Machine Operator I is an entry-level position at SigSauer, responsible for handling basic manufacturing tasks in a team environment. This role involves working with various equipment and tools to complete tasks, including deburring, buffing, sanding, and tumbling operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery and equipment to complete tasks, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Use hard gauging to confirm proper characteristics of parts.
  • Perform bead and sand blasting, and run tumblers according to established procedures.
  • Use automated and manual equipment to clean and strip coating from parts.
  • Engrave serial numbers and other markings on firearms using laser cutting machines.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities to enhance processes and efficiency.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions in English.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to convey ideas and information clearly and accurately to others.
  • Basic knowledge of gauging and deburring.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Work is primarily standing, with occasional sitting, stooping, and walking.
  • Must be able to lift and move tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
