The Machine Operator II plays a crucial role in the production process at SIG SAUER, Inc., responsible for tasks within Finishing, Engraving, Cerakote, Black Oxide, and Mag Cell. This position requires attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team environment, and a commitment to quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve processes.
- Operate automated and manual equipment to prepare surfaces, strip coating, tumble, and race parts.
- Train new operators and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Run Automatic Bead blast equipment, identify problems, and perform preventative maintenance.
- Use chemicals to clean robots, strip coating, and run the coating/painting booth.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting production deadlines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve impediments and improve daily work processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; related experience and/or training a plus.
- Basic knowledge of loading parts, running programs, and recovering robots.
- Ability to deburr parts, buff, and blend per training matrix.
- Proficient in using calipers, depth microscope, control plans, UID scanner, hard gauging, and blueprints.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Work primarily standing, with frequent sitting, stooping, walking, and stair climbing.
- Must be able to lift and move tooling, parts containers, and materials up to 40 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and comply with work exposure EH&S training requirements.
