The Construction Project Leader will manage the daily operations of construction initiatives valued between $5M and $100M. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are executed safely, adhere to timelines, and remain within financial constraints.

The Construction Project Leader holds the ultimate responsibility for the successful delivery of project execution. This encompasses overall accountability for cost estimation, budget management, scheduling, compliance with contracts, safety protocols, quality assurance, project completion, and client satisfaction. The individual will allocate labor and equipment resources effectively, track construction progress, establish strategic project objectives, and closely monitor performance to ensure alignment with the client's goals. Active engagement with field supervision and project engineering teams is essential, along with providing training and mentorship for continuous improvement and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a comprehensive heavy highway, road, and/or bridge construction project or a significant segment of a larger construction endeavor.
  • Plan and execute complex or technical tasks requiring sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Manage field construction activities, engineering tasks, and other project support functions.
  • Ensure contract execution aligns with established schedules and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and maintain relationships as the primary contact with the client.
  • Administer contracts while safeguarding the rights and remedies of the company regarding changes.
  • Assemble the workforce necessary to fulfill contract obligations and provide direct oversight of field supervision.
  • Utilize negotiation and contract management expertise to represent the company in dealings with clients and external agencies.

Qualifications

  • 3-10 years of recent experience in heavy highway, road, and bridge construction management is essential.
  • Experience with medium to large-scale heavy highway, road, and bridge construction projects ($50M+) is required.
  • Familiarity with the local construction landscape is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
  • A proven ability to organize workforces to achieve project objectives.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines.
  • Strong leadership capabilities are necessary.
