Job Summary:

The Therapeutic Recreation Assistant plays a vital role in creating a positive and engaging environment for residents. This position is responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic social and cognitive entertainment activities, trips, and events that cater to the needs of seniors and physically/mentally challenged adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement activity calendars that offer a diverse range of activities and events.
  • Organize and participate in daily social and therapeutic activities, ensuring a high level of engagement and participation from residents.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines to design and implement programs that meet the specific needs of residents.

Requirements:

Must have experience in developing and implementing therapeutic programs, activities, and events for seniors or physically/mentally challenged adults in a clinical setting. Possess a Therapeutic Recreation Director certificate of completion. Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, is required. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
