Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team at Calian. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, executing, and delivering client-facing projects that span various disciplines within our practice areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
  • Define and organize projects, establishing project scope and timeline, and engaging the appropriate departments to establish the project team.
  • Ensure team members understand their assigned action items and meet due dates, keeping team resources focused on planning and executing the project.
  • Provide assistance and support to project team members, facilitating project execution and ensuring timelines are met.
  • Work with Sales to evaluate the effect of changes to scope or timeline on project costs and revenue, maintaining the project folder in a public network location with appropriate project management documents.
  • Provide updates to client, team members, sales personnel, and management on project status, owning and maintaining the project status spreadsheet for all projects.
  • Hold project kickoff, status, and close-out calls for all assigned projects, ensuring effective communication and transfer of information between the project team and client.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure proper invoicing at the appropriate project milestones, keeping the project team and others informed about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5+ years of in-depth experience coordinating projects, working directly with technical engineers and non-technical end users.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring project goals are met, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to support and empathize with team members, and strong organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with strong communication skills (oral and written), ability to assess risks and make decisions while working under pressure and time constraints, and knowledge of Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software.
  • Critical thinking and project management skills required, excellent writing, editing skills, and command of grammar, with ability to edit text for consistent style.
