We are seeking a skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team at Preferred Apartment Communities. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our apartment communities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in all maintenance requests, preventative maintenance, and amenity area maintenance for the apartment community.
- Complete maintenance work orders for residents, including service of appliances, plumbing, HVAC systems, minor electrical, gate systems, pool operations, and more.
- Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance requests for after-hours calls.
- Prepare vacant apartments to make them rent-ready.
- Perform preventative maintenance work to ensure the longevity of our properties.
- Keep the maintenance shop clean and organized, and maintain adequate stock/inventory of parts for equipment and appliances.
- Interact directly with residents to provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain logbooks and databases, and enter service requests and status updates into our system.
- Assist in monitoring contractor work performance.
- Support the Service Manager in meeting budget responsibilities.
- Follow and promote company policies and procedures.
- Make customer service a top priority.
This role requires the ability to:
- Use various hand tools and test equipment.
- Bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Push and pull up to 300 pounds on wheels.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders of up to 40 feet in height.
- Use a hand-truck.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1-3 years of maintenance experience, preferably in apartment maintenance.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Budget or basic business finance knowledge.
- Refrigeration certification (Type 2 or Universal) or obtain within the first 90 days of employment.
- A valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
