Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Structural Engineer to join our team at Qualus Services. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and detailing mat and pier type foundations for substation structures, as well as designing substation structures ranging from simple equipment supports to overhead line towers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
  • Work with renewable energy developers and other clients to support specific schedules and cost estimates.
  • Design foundations using commercially available software such as LPILE.
  • Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports.
  • Perform company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with external business partners.
  • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Mentor less experienced staff on technical and project management skills.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science or Master's in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations.
  • Proficient with drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Experience in transmission, distribution, and generating stations is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
