POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Systems Architect will play a pivotal role in crafting system and subsystem architectures, defining software specifications, and conducting integration and validation testing. This position requires ensuring that all designs are meticulously outlined, traceable, and validated through thorough testing processes, down to the component and software specification levels. Meeting deadlines and delivering superior quality products are essential aspects of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate and oversee system and subsystem-level specifications, ensuring traceability down to the component level.
- Document and evaluate connectivity diagrams at both system and subsystem levels utilizing various modeling methodologies.
- Articulate platform functionalities through SYSML diagrams and other suitable techniques.
- Create and implement vehicle and subsystem-level integration, testing, and validation strategies.
- Incorporate diverse components into established vehicle frameworks.
- Offer cross-departmental support to various teams.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience (less experience may be considered with an advanced degree).
- Proven experience in formulating system specifications and ensuring compliance with high-level customer requirements.
- Strong expertise in developing system designs down to the component level, ensuring adherence to system specifications and design criteria.
- Experience in defining subsystem specifications based on allocated system requirements.
- Proficient in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and system modeling tools (e.g., Cameo or equivalent).
- Familiarity with electrical design tools (e.g., Capital Logic or equivalent).
- Experience with requirements management systems such as DOORs or similar platforms.
- Capability to work in varied environments, including office, workshop, testing laboratory, and vehicle settings.
- Ability to meet physical demands for working in and around vehicles, including passing the Anthropometric Size Requirement (ASR) test for confined spaces.
- Eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance, if necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience in the defense sector, particularly with land-based systems and collaborating with government entities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to work occasional evening and weekend hours as required.
